Flora Europaea the original Linnean specimen Grin taxonomy perennial, G, 2n=16 saxicole calciphile mainly but also a steppe xeric-mesoxeric element Pannonian - Dacian - north Mediterranean species (ssp. tauricum is Balkan-Pontic) Festucetalia valesiacae, Stipo-Festucetalia pallentis, Festucetalia vaginatae R 34, R 16 habitats           A saxicole calciphile species at its origins, which also frequently can be seen in Transylvania and Moldavia in xeric and mesoxeric steppe grasslands (in the last region also locally on sand dunes).
